A Software Project Manager is required to join a leading Scientific R&D organisation, based-in Oxford. The successful Software Project Manager will be joining a highly technical company, working on large-scale and varied projects across the full software development lifecycle.

Whilst this organisation are based-in Oxford, the successful Project Manager will have the benefit of flexible working with the possibility of remote working up to 3/4 days per week!

What will I be doing?
This is an internal Software Project Manager position, focused on managing multiple concurrent software development projects. It’s a fast-paced environment which will see you face interesting and varied challenges. As the Software Project Manager, you will:

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders coordinating development projects
  • Create and deliver project work-plans, gathering requirements and taking ownership from end-to-end including the planning of software releases and reviewing of bug fixes
  • Work across multiple projects both business and digital to drive them forward
  • Tale ownership of resource management and overall delivery.

The ideal candidate will have…

  • A relevant degree within IT such as a CompSci, or relevant training experience
  • Strong experience as a Project Manager
  • Previous experience managing software projects with a strong understanding of the SDLC
  • Sound knowledge of Agile and waterfall methodologies
  • Experience of requirements gathering and creation of user stories
  • Experience documenting epics using Jira
  • Experience taking full ownership of end-to-end projects and products
  • Excellent experience of stakeholder management and an ability to build strong relationships
  • Well organised, strong coordination and planning skills
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical individuals alike
