Senior PHP Developer

Back To Job Board

This is an exciting time for a senior PHP Developer to join an internationally trusted source of medical news and education to the healthcare professional community, as they embark on a period of technical growth and transformation

What will I be doing?
Providing readily accessible content via a range of subject-specific websites and digital platforms, development to-date has been carried out via a third party partner. With ambitious growth plans for 2023 and beyond that rely on the successful delivery of a number of agreed technical projects, my client has decided that it is the right time to bring development in-house as part of a growing team, with the Senior PHP Developer collaborating with the editorial and design teams to take new features from idea, to prototype, to production.

You will have ownership and responsibility for architecture, as well as the ongoing development and future evolution of the publishing platform, and will have the opportunity to develop and manage a small team.

About the company
Established 5 years ago to meet a growing need for independent expert advice and cutting-edge research directly from international thought leaders, my client has grown rapidly to establish themselves as a trusted global leader in this field. Their close-knit team work remotely, but with collaboration hubs currently in London, Oxford, and Ipswich, they enjoy getting together monthly to explore and share ideas.

With a flexible approach to working and with excellent benefits and opportunities for career development and advancement, this really is an excellent time to join.

The ideal candidate will have…

  • A strong track record of building and maintaining modern, microservice-based applications in PHP
  • Experience of associated technologies including WordPress and the LAMP stack
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS and JavaScript front-end web application frameworks (like AngularJs, Node.js, GruntJS, etc.)
  • Previous experience of, or an interest in, leading and mentoring more junior developers
  • Any experience of delivering video content and other media would be looked upon favourably
