A Python Developer / Software Engineer is required to join a leading Scientific R&D organisation, based-in Oxford.

What will I be doing?

As the successful Python Developer / Software Engineer, you will join an in-house team of Engineers contributing to the support and development of new software tools and protocols. As well as this, they will undergo a range of tasks within the automation team in support of the company’s range of devices, including but not limited to: implementation and modification of device functionality, monitoring & distribution for device platforms, infrastructure support and development of existing software tools.

This position is based-in Oxford and requires a candidate to work in office however there may be possibilities for flexible / remote working dependant on project scope and workload!

The ideal candidate will have…

  • A relevant degree within Software Engineering such as a CompSci or relevant training experience
  • Commercial experience of Python Development
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team working on customer requirements gathering
  • Prior knowledge or experience within Linux environments – Experience with Debian in particular is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an strong ability to build strong & lasting relationships.
  • Experience with containerisation tools such as Docker as well as any experience of automation tools such as Chef or Ansible is beneficial as well as experience of CI/CD Systems
