An exciting opportunity has arisen in a rapidly growing scientific R&D organisation for a skilled and enthusiastic IT Manager / Systems Administrator, to join their Oxford-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Support professional with previous IT Management experience or an individual who has acted as a stand-alone IT function within their business looking to take the next step up in their career. Whilst this position will be based-in Oxford there will be a requirement to visit other UK sites in the future, on an ad hoc basis; as well as supporting functions overseas.

What will I be doing?
The successful IT Manager / Systems Administrator will be a driven and proactive individual with experience supporting SME-sized businesses in everyday operations including Group Policy and domain name setup, cloud computing and general networking through to, the development of IT policies and procedures, training documentation and rollouts/relocations.

The ideal candidate will have…

  • Previous commercial experience with Microsoft packages including, O365, Excel, Outlook & Exchange
  • Experience of networking including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and internet routing and switching
  • Prior experience with cloud tech such as AWS, Azure or similar
  • Experience supporting a range of users both face-to-face and remotely
  • Previous experience setting up IT policies and strategies as well as creating training documentation is highly beneficial
  • Experience within a relevant scientific R&D / Medical Environment is also highly desirable
